Miku Nakamura (Cö Shu Nie) the female TK: Imitation of the TK (Ling tosite sigure) Rock sound

Impossible but possible.

First exposure

Miku Nakamura first came to my awareness while listening to music one day on Spotify. Spotify sneakily slid a new song onto my playlist that was not, in fact, what I had been listening to previously. I do not usually listen to Spotify recommendations I prefer to find music through TV shows, anime, movies, social media, and blogs instead. Since that is more organic. That said their recommendation did appeal to me. When I first heard the song, Bone Ash, by Tomori Kusunoki there was something odd, something familiar about it.

I believe this was May 2023. I could not understand why at the time. But what struck me the most is how much I enjoyed Tomori Kusunoki's powdery vocals which were so beautiful. Against that sound. Dark. Twisted. But an exquisitely beautiful sound. Flash forward to September 2023 and I found myself revisiting the song again. I liked it so much I looked into who wrote the song. It was Miku Nakamura of Cö Shu Nie. She was the one that composed, arranged, and wrote the lyrics to the song while Tomori Kusunoki, a voice actress for anime sang it. After listening to it more still that is when I noticed that there was something for sure familiar so I figured to look into it by asking the Google AI, Bard, if Cö Shu Nie was influenced by Ling tosite sigure. To my surprise, Bard, said yes. There were sightings online that said Cö Shu Nie quite clearly was influenced by Ling tosite sigure. TK's Rock band. His music.

TK's original sound

Kind of at a loss for words. I have always thought TK's sound is so original it cannot be replicated but it is interesting how Miku Nakamura has found a way to replicate it. But. I will say this I can definitely tell it is not him. But I catch myself becoming fooled at times when I first hear a Cö Shu Nie song where his presence is strongest. I would say it is a very good imitation.

TK and Miku Nakamura (Cö Shu Nie) History

Important I bring up that TK for some reason worked with Miku Nakamura in 2020 for his solo album, Sainou (Color brain). I believe it was the song, Sainou (Sui side), where it was mentioned that for the recording she was on the piano to add color to the song.

Not to mention they are both signed to Sony Music Japan and were tapped to provide songs to Code Geass's (anime series) re-broadcast in 2021. Let's keep in mind that Sony has a lot of clout in the anime industry. So I doubt it is a coincidence.

An imitation of TK's sound

Miku Nakamura has quite clearly been influenced by TK's Rock sound there is no denying it. Every time I listen to Bone Ash composed, arranged, and lyrics written by her sung by Tomori Kusunoki I cannot help my disbelief. Those basslines! I am not sure how it is possible. That I sense the presence of him. TK. Toru.

I still cannot believe it though. But I should add she has other songs that do not sound like TK's Rock sound that are equally as good. I recommend, no future, a really fun, wacky song.
